Don Bosco Bhavan shares the mission of the Salesian Congregation founded by the charismatic Italian priest of the XIX century – St John Bosco, popularly known as Don Bosco, the Father and Teacher of Youth. The institution prepares young candidates who are doing their higher secondary studies and desirous of becoming priests and religious to dedicate themselves to the service of less privileged youth following the example of Don Bosco.
Inspired by the compassionate love of God who raised up St John Bosco as the Father and Teacher of underprivileged youth, we are dedicated to the integral development of youth, particularly those on the margins of society to contribute to the building of a new society based on love, justice and peace.
Don Bosco Bhavan, Mannuthy, is an aspirantate (Junior Seminary) of the Province of Bangalore of the Salesians of Don Bosco. It was started in 1971 as an apostolic school with students attending high school. To this effect also a High School sanctioned by the government of Kerala was started the same year. From 1995 the practice of accepting high school students was discontinued and they were replaced with post SSLC aspirants.
